Stuart Meredith – Freelance Graphic Designer
Based in West London, I am a freelance graphic designer with experience working both in-house in London design agencies and also directly with a wide range of clients. I work across a range of media, examples of which are: Design for print, brochures, DM and press advertising. On-screen design such as websites, e-flyers and e-newsletters. Branding and logo design.
My work reflects the fact that I place great importance to the idea behind the work. Graphic design is about communicating that idea or message to the viewer. It’s not about just producing pretty pictures, work that blindly follows fashion for the sake of it, or anything self indulgent (or "visual masturbation" as one of my old colleagues so aptly put it). The work is targeted at a specific audience and has to communicate with that audience. It is this visual communication and ideas behind the design that means the work is of value to the client.
I do have a broad portfolio, but alas, I can't do everything. Of course it helps that my drinking buddies are freelance Photographers, Illustrators and Web Developers to name a few. All this means that almost any design problem can be tackled, from concept to completion, by myself or with a little help from my friends.
